Mission Statement Improving Patient
Care is a non-profit organization specializing in the standardization of
patient communication and data reporting. IPC (Improving Patient Care)
wants to simplify patient data to a single format that can be easily
carried by the patient, faxed to a hospital, or stored in a database.
Currently there is no standard format for reporting baseline patient
data. IPC is hoping to change this lack of uniformity.
To this end, IPC is creating a patient data base tool for publication in
newspapers and on the web. To entice public participation, IPC will
publish interesting patient presentations (cases) as a quiz laid out in
a puzzle format.
Those who answer the questions from the puzzle through the Internet
response page, will be rewarded with prizes for the correct answer. IPC
will gather public response to questions and obtain data from the
respondents and slowly build an understanding of public perception.
Improving Patient Care hopes to improve the publics understanding with
the way data is accepted and presented.
The single page data format will lend itself to a strong computer data
base, medical record program, and record auditing tool.
